Love Sudoku? Try Futoshiki Unlimited! An unlimited number-based logic game to sharpen your mind every day. Play for free!

Futoshiki Unlimited turns a seemingly simple square grid into a battle of wits involving numbers and inequality signs (<, >). Your task is to fill the grid so that in every row and in every column there are all numbers from 1 to the size of the grid (no repetitions), and all inequalities hold. Download Futoshiki Unlimited now and beat each challenge level!

Gameplay—Where numbers must "obey the rules"

Futoshiki Unlimited comes with grid sizes from 4x4 to 9x9 in three difficulty levels. The smaller puzzles are good for learning the concepts, while the bigger puzzles demand you figure out the link between cells, rows, and columns to come up with the answer. For example, in a chain like A < B < C, you have a chain of information to work with, not just individual hints. If we look at the complete sequence, rather than each sign separately, we may greatly reduce the choices for the cells at the ends. Take the challenge today!

Controls

  • Mouse: Select the cell you want to fill.
  • Number: Select a number to place in the selected cell.
  • Click the same number again: Remove the placed number.
  • Pencil Marks: Jot down potential numbers for a cell.
  • Hint: Obtain guidance on the right line of reasoning when you become stuck.

Tips for solving tough Futoshiki puzzles

  • Observe consecutive < or > sequences before filling in the numbers.
  • Look for cells at the start or end of long sequences.
  • Eliminate numbers that already appear in the same row or column.
  • Use Pencil Marks for cells with multiple possibilities. After filling in a number, re-evaluate the relevant inequalities.
  • If you become stuck, do not guess randomly; look for a sequence or an unexplored cell.
  • When you have a large grid, it might help to divide it up into portions of rows and columns. This way, you don't have to think about so much information at one time.

FAQs

Is Futoshiki Unlimited similar to Sudoku?

Both games include the limitation that numbers cannot repeat in rows or columns; however, Futoshiki does not have the 3×3 blocks of Sudoku. Instead, the < and > marks are significant hints.

What grid sizes are available in Futoshiki Unlimited?

Grids range from 4×4 to 9×9, with three difficulty levels.

What are pencil marks used for?

This feature lets you make notes on possible candidates for a cell, which is helpful when you don't have enough information to identify the right answer yet.
